Effective Date: July 13, 2026
At Mobile Madmen ("we", "us", or "our"), we respect your privacy and are committed to protecting it. This Privacy Policy explains our practices regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of information when you use the Mobile Mimic Google Chrome Extension (the "Extension").
Mobile Mimic does not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal data, browsing history, or analytics.
All functionality provided by the Extension happens strictly locally on your own computer. We do not use remote servers to process your data, we do not track the websites you visit, and we do not use third-party tracking software (such as Google Analytics) inside the Extension.
To provide its core functionality—emulating a precise mobile viewing environment—the Extension requires specific browser permissions. Here is exactly how and why they are used locally on your machine:
activeTab & tabs: Used momentarily when you click the Extension icon or right-click menu. The Extension reads the URL of the tab you are currently viewing so it can open that exact same URL in the new mobile emulator window.
scripting: Used to run a single line of code (window.innerHeight) on your active tab to measure the physical height of your monitor. This allows the emulator to size itself perfectly to your screen without cutting off the bottom of the webpage.
debugger: Used to attach Chrome's native DevTools protocol to the newly created tab. This is required to shrink the viewport (Device Metrics Override) and change the browser identity (User-Agent Override) to accurately simulate an iPhone.
contextMenus: Used to add the convenient "Open in Mobile Mimic" button to your browser's right-click menu.
<all_urls> (Host Permission): Required so the Extension can emulate the mobile view of any website or local development environment you choose to test.
None of these permissions are used to monitor, record, or transmit your activity.
Because we do not collect any user data, we cannot and do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer any information to outside parties.
The Extension interacts with the websites you actively choose to visit. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of the websites you browse while using Mobile Mimic. We encourage you to read the privacy policies of any website you visit.
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Effective Date" at the top of this page and update the Extension in the Chrome Web Store.
